SqueakQL

SqueakQL is Hamstik’s domain-restricted query language for Work Items. It uses PostgreSQL-inspired expression syntax, but it is not SQL and does not provide direct database access. Every expression is parsed, validated, compiled to a whitelisted Work Item query, and evaluated inside your existing Hamstik permissions.

Where to use it

Use Advanced Query · SqueakQL in the Work Items view for an interactive query. For integrations, use the public API’s organization-scoped POST search endpoint:

POST https://hamstik.com/api/v1/organizations/acme/work-items/search

The API returns Hamstik’s normal Work Item representation and opaque cursor pagination. A query never expands the Projects or Work Items you can access.

CURRENT_USER means your authenticated Hamstik identity. It does not mean the PostgreSQL database user.

Language version

The current language version is 1. Validation responses include languageVersion: 1 so integrations have a clear compatibility boundary.
