Install Hamstik on your device
Hamstik is an installable web app. Installing it adds a Hamstik icon to your home screen, dock, or app launcher and opens it in its own window. You do not need an app store, and installing does not change what your account can access.
Install Hamstik
- Open https://hamstik.com in your browser and sign in.
- Use the install control your browser offers:
- Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, and others that support installation): look for an Install control in the address bar or the browser menu. If Hamstik can trigger the browser’s install prompt, an Install app button also appears in the app.
- Safari on iPhone and iPad: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
- Other browsers: open the browser menu and look for Install app or Add to Home Screen. If the option is not offered, continue using Hamstik in a normal tab — installation is optional.
- Confirm the name and open Hamstik from the new icon.
The installed app launches at a sign-in-aware destination. If you are signed out it takes you to sign in; if you are signed in it opens your authorized workspace. It never opens directly into a specific Organization or Work Item.
Browser differences
Installability is a browser capability, not a Hamstik guarantee. Hamstik shows install guidance based on what your browser actually supports:
| Browser capability | What Hamstik shows |
|---|---|
| Supports an install prompt | An Install app button that opens the browser prompt |
| No install prompt, but a home-screen/share flow exists | How to install instructions using your browser’s own control |
| Already installed and running standalone | No install guidance |
| Browser does not support installation | No install prompt; use Hamstik in a tab |
Hamstik does not promise an automatic prompt on browsers that do not provide one. The add-to-home-screen result, icon shape, and app window chrome are controlled by your browser and operating system, not by Hamstik.
The install notice is optional. Choose Don’t show again to dismiss it permanently for the current browser profile. The preference survives page changes, reloads, and later sign-ins; clearing Hamstik site data resets it. Installation remains available through the browser’s address-bar, Share, or menu controls after the notice is dismissed.
What works offline
Hamstik is a connected work-management tool. When you are offline:
- Opening a new page or reloading without a connection shows a generic You’re offline message with a retry button. An already open page and its unsaved input can remain visible in memory.
- Previously viewed pages, Work Items, comments, and attachments are not shown from a cache, because Hamstik never stores private pages for offline use. The offline fallback contains no previously viewed work.
- Creating or editing Work Items, posting comments, and moving board cards fail visibly. Hamstik does not queue or replay changes made offline. A connection can fail after the server accepted a save, so an interrupted request has an unconfirmed outcome. Reconnect and check the current state before deliberately retrying.
Unsaved input and updates
- Text you have typed but not yet saved stays in memory only, for as long as the page stays open. Hamstik does not write confidential drafts to shared device storage.
- When a new version is available, choose Prepare update to activate it without closing the current page. Then choose Reload to update when ready. Hamstik confirms before reloading and warns about unsaved input. Choosing Keep editing preserves the page. Updating one tab never forces another tab to reload. The browser also warns before closing a tracked dirty form.
- The cached install files are Hamstik’s own versioned static assets and the generic offline page only. Signing out or switching accounts clears Hamstik’s cached files, and an update retires older cached versions.
