Presence on boards and sprints
When you opt in, Hamstik can show the people who are currently viewing the same Project board or sprint view as you — a small “viewing” roster in the page header. It is collaboration polish, not tracking.
What presence shows — and never shows
The roster contains the display name and avatar of currently signed-in Organization members with access to the same view. It never contains cursor positions, editing locks, what anyone is working on, viewing history, or last-seen timestamps. Presence is transient: there is no history and nothing is exported.
Opting in and out
Presence is off by default for every account. Turn it on or off in Account → Presence (“Show me as viewing boards and sprints”).
- While on, boards and sprints you open (and that you have access to) list you among the current viewers.
- While off, you neither broadcast presence nor see rosters anywhere.
- Turning it off removes any outstanding presence immediately — there is no residual entry waiting to expire.
How viewers appear and disappear
- A viewer counts while their browser tab is open and visible; the roster refreshes every 20 seconds.
- A viewer’s entry disappears about 60 seconds after their last activity — closing the tab, navigating away, logging out, or hiding the tab long enough removes them. Opening several tabs of the same board counts once.
- Access is re-checked continuously: if someone loses access to the Organization or Project, they drop out of the roster within about half a minute, on their next refresh.
Privacy boundaries
- Only active, signed-in members with current access participate. Guests, public links, and API tokens never publish or appear.
- Cross-Organization access never mixes: a roster only shows members of that board’s Organization.
- No mascot artwork or activity detail appears in the roster — names and avatars only.
